Lisa is a Certified Academic Learning Therapist (CALT) and a Certified Dyslexia Therapist. She received her graduate degree in Academic Learning Therapy from Southern Methodist University in Dallas, TX.  Her undergraduate degree is in Communication Disorders and she has enjoyed working with kids to develop their written and oral communication skills on a volunteer and professional basis for many years.  As part of her CALT certification she completed 700 hours of supervised remediation. Since completing her degree she has worked in private practice to provide multi-sensory based remediation as well as general academic skills enhancement. In 2017, she completed Multi-Sensory Math I training through the Atlantic Seaboard Dyslexia Education Center and is currently completing Multi-Sensory Math II. Lisa has also completed additional training in Multi-Sensory Grammar, written composition and Report Form for reading comprehension. She is a current member of the International Dyslexia Association (IDA). Lisa believes that each student deserves the opportunity to learn in the way that helps them achieve their full academic potential. Sometimes this requires a different approach than what is offered in their current educational setting. Lisa is committed to continuing education that maximizes her ability to offer the most current evidence, based instructional methods.
